In addition, we found that these ligands could represent a fraction of potential inducers of the stress response of cardiomyocytes, traced in the expression of genes such as ANKRD1 or CCND1. Our findings suggest that this multicellular representation of molecular processes in HF provides a valuable framework for studying disease at the tissue-level and could guide the identification of therapeutic targets that stabilize multicellular coordination and maintain tissue homeostasis. The gene discussed is ANKRD1; the disease is hydrops fetalis.
