Gomes et al.22, after evaluating the levels of salivary biomarkers IL-1β, IL-10, RANK, OPG, MMP-2, TG-β, and TNF-α in individuals diagnosed with peri-implant mucositis in the absence or presence of periodontal and peri-implant maintenance therapy, over 5 years, observed a higher incidence of peri-implantitis in the group that did not receive therapy (43.9%) compared to the treated group (18%). This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and Peri-Implantitis.
