ADAR and neoplasm: In hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), editing of miR-3144-3p by ADAR1 shifts its targeting away from tumor suppressors and toward oncogenes, and editing of pri-miR-26a or miR-200b in leukemia and thyroid cancer, respectively, disrupts miRNA maturation or epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) suppression (85–88).
