To investigate this role experimentally, we used mice with a targeted Bach2 deletion in this study and examined their susceptibility to AIP under normal conditions and in response to two potential environmental triggers, poly I:C and a high-fat diet (HFD), which have been previously studied in MRL/Mp and outbred mice prone to disease development (4, 14, 31). Here, BACH2 is linked to autoimmune pancreatitis.
