Bednarz et al. (2022) found that GLP1 may have anti-inflammatory and antifibrotic effects on the gonads and endometrium while reversing polycystic ovary morphology and lowering serum androgen levels. Elkind-Hirsch et al. (2017) studied 60 overweight and obese patients treated with Exenatide 10 μg and Exenatide 10 μg plus Metformin 1000 mg and observed an increase in ovulation rates in the latter group. The gene discussed is GLP1R; the disease is polycystic ovary syndrome.
