RAB29 and Parkinson disease: In our study of the Northwestern Russian population, weconfirmed the association of the C allele of rs823144 with areduced risk of PD, which is consistent with global findings(Gan-Or et al., 2012; Khaligh et al., 2017; Sun et al., 2021).Notably, we did not observe any association between theC allele of rs823144 genotype and RAB29 mRNA levels inperipheral blood mononuclear cells from either PD patientsor controls.
