Hypoxia‐inducible factor‐1 alpha (HIF‐1α) is an essential transcription factor that supports cancer cell survival by up‐regulating the expression of genes involved in proliferation and migration under hypoxia.[13, 14] In our previous studies, it was confirmed that FAs increase HIF‐1α activity in liver, colon, prostate, and breast cancers.[15, 16] Meanwhile, HIF‐1α enhances FAs uptake by inducing the expression of Fatty Acid Binding Protein3 (FABP3), FABP7, and Perilipin‐2 in breast cancer cells, which are critical for cell growth and survival. Here, FABP3 is linked to breast carcinoma.
