The phase II SUMMIT trial, which explored the use of neratinib—a pan-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor with activity against HER2—in the setting of HER2-mutated, pretreated cervical cancer, also suggests that testing for HER2 mutations via NGS may have clinical utility (Friedman et al., 2024).
