A comparison between cytokine levels during infection and the first measurement post-recovery revealed that plasma levels of IL-1β (p = 0.0012), IL-2 (p = 0.0110), IL-4 (p = 0.0388), IL-5 (p = 0.0004), IL-10 (p = 0.0023), IL-12p70 (p < 0.0001), IL-17F (p = 0.0347), IL-22 (p = 0.0155), TNF-β (p = 0.0374), and IFN-γ (p = 0.0379) remained significantly elevated after recovery from SARS-CoV-2 infection (Figure 5A).
