Nintedanib, which targets several protein-tyrosine kinases, most convincingly the receptors for vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), and fibroblast growth factor (FGF), has also been shown on the basis of multiple phase 3 trials to be safe and effective in both IPF and PPF [63,64,65,66]. The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
