Reports from prostate cancer suggest polycomb-independent oncogenic functions of EZH2 that converge on AKT activation [10], and similar EZH2-mediated mechanisms have been linked to resistance to PARP inhibitors in ovarian cancer and to EGFR inhibitors in lung cancer [14,15,16,17,18,19,20]. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and prostate carcinoma.
