As reported by Liu et al. [48], in a cohort of 188 surgically treated AUS/FLUS nodules, the malignancy rate reached 54.3%, and multivariate analysis identified male sex, a taller-than-wide shape, microcalcifications, and the presence of the BRAF V600E mutation as independent predictors of thyroid cancer. Here, BRAF is linked to thyroid gland carcinoma.
