Our analysis of morphological, immunohistochemical, and molecular patterns in SS with regard to histological subtype reveals epithelial positivity for E-cadherin and cytokeratin 19 as well as vimentin and S100b protein expression, the lack of CDKN2A mRNA, and low levels of EGFR and PDGFRL mRNA in biphasic SS. The gene discussed is CDKN2A; the disease is synovial sarcoma.
