The presence of stenotic atherosclerosis of lower limb arteries was associated with a monocyte count above the median combined with an elevated Lp(a) concentration (OR = 2.5, 95% CI: 1.4–4.5, p < 0.01) compared to patients with Lp(a) level < 30 mg/dL and a monocyte count below the median. This evidence concerns the gene LPA and atherosclerosis.
