Zheng et al. demonstrated that HIF-1α overexpression in non-small-cell lung cancer elevated GPX4 expression, while HIF-1α silencing induced ferroptosis and inhibited tumor proliferation in lung cancer cells [32]; Gao et al. reported that elevated HIF-1α in hepatocellular carcinoma cells significantly inhibited sorafenib-induced cellular ferroptosis [47].
