Flow cytometry analysis was remarkable for a 70% infiltration of cytoplasmic Lambda-restricted plasma cells, exhibiting the following immunophenotypic aberrations: CD45−/dim, CD19−, CD20−, CD28+, CD38++, CD138+/−, CD117+/−, CD81+/−, and CD27+/dim, CD56−, with concomitant 2% infiltration of classical CLL lymphocytes (Figure 1). The gene discussed is CD19; the disease is B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
