Genetic variations in six distinct genes have been associated with pustular psoriasis: genes encoding the interleukin-36 receptor antagonist (IL36RN), caspase recruitment domain-containing protein 14 (CARD14), adapter protein complex 1 subunit sigma 3 (AP1S3), TNFAIP3-interacting protein 1 (TNIP1), the serine protease inhibitor SERPINA3, and interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1RA or IL1RN) [27]. Here, CARD14 is linked to pustular psoriasis.
