Several loci mapped to genes involved in cell–cell adhesion (e.g. CADM2) [47], extracellular matrix interactions (e.g. COL13A1) [48], vesicular trafficking (e.g. EXOC6) [49], and membrane lipid asymmetry (e.g. ATP8B4) [50], all of which are processes relevant to melanoma cell invasion, immune evasion, and tumor–stroma communication. This evidence concerns the gene EXOC6 and neoplasm.
