The Akt/mTOR pathway is implicated in TGF‐β‐promoted pericyte‐myofibroblast transition subretinal fibrosis (Zhao et al. 2022), and suppressed GSK3β expression and activated PI3K/Akt signaling have been observed in proliferative vitreoretinopathy models (Zhang et al. 2018).
