In this context, Qa‐1‐dependent peptide presentation restrains excessive T‐cell activation, negatively controlling the expression of IFNγ, Fas ligand (FasL) and CTLA‐4 (Cytotoxic T‐lymphocyte antigen 4), and the apoptosis of T cells, which impairs the ability to resist infection. This evidence concerns the gene FASLG and infection.
