In lung cancer, MAFF was shown to promote ferroptosis through the regulation of solute carrier family 7 member 11 (SLC7A11), cyclin-dependent kinase 6 (CDK6), and cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2 C (CDKN2C), thereby inhibiting cell cycle progression from the G1 to S phase and suppressing tumor cell proliferation [57]. Here, CDKN2C is linked to lung carcinoma.
