This may suggest that, with development to the fully symptomatic stage, the expression of this miRNA decreases, which consequently increases the expression of target oncogenes such as CDH2. The data obtained may indicate that the gradual reduction in miR208b-3p may be an unfavourable prognostic factor and significantly contributes to the development of MM from the preclinical stage. The gene discussed is CDH2; the disease is Miyoshi myopathy.
