Canive et al. (29) also investigated the effect of a cis-eQTL [rs41976219 (A/C)] affecting the expression of Cathepsin G (CTSG) in control of MAP infection and demonstrated that the heterozygous genotype was associated with higher CTSG levels in monocyte-derived macrophages (MDM) supernatants and lower intracellular MAP at 7 days after infection. This evidence concerns the gene CTSG and infection.
