In our study, we showed that sBCMA levels were higher in multiple myeloma patients as compared to healthy controls and that baseline sBCMA levels were significantly correlated with anemia, hypercalcemia, HR cytogenetics, thrombocytopenia, β2‐microglobulin, bone marrow plasma cells, and ISS as well as R‐ISS staging. The gene discussed is HLA-G; the disease is anemia.
