Other genes of interest with a log2FC difference of at least 2 between early onset preeclampsia and placenta accreta included a number of collagen genes which were downregulated in preeclampsia (COL1A1, COL1A2, COL3A1) compared to placenta accreta decidua cells (Fig. 6a), epidermal growth factor-like domain multiple-6 (EGFL6) which was downregulated in preeclampsia compared to all accreta cell types (Fig. 6), and paternally expressed gene 10 (PEG10) which was relatively upregulated in preeclampsia compared to accreta endothelial and extravillous trophoblast cells (Fig. 6c, d). Here, PEG10 is linked to preeclampsia.
