The prospective randomized controlled trial by Liao et al. aimed to compare the efficacy between oral metformin (1500 mg) in combination with a hormonal oral contraceptive, cyproterone acetate/ethinyl estradiol (CPA/EE) (2 mg/36 μg), and in combination with a subcutaneous GLP-1 receptor agonist, liraglutide (1.2-1.8 mg), for the pharmacological management of overweight patients with PCOS [6]. Here, GLP1R is linked to polycystic ovary syndrome.
