Physical exercise has been widely associated with reduced systemic inflammation.56 Notably, endurance exercise has been shown to decrease MCP-1 levels in individuals with metabolic syndrome,57 while even modest physical activity has been reported to lower circulating inflammatory markers, including MCP-1, in patients with heart failure.58 Given that yoga incorporates both physical movement and stress reduction, it may contribute to anti-inflammatory effects through mechanisms similar to those observed in other forms of exercise. Here, CCL2 is linked to metabolic syndrome.
