Briefly, Th1 cytokines were used to induce a pro-inflammatory phenotype (i-MG), while interleukin-4 (IL4-MG) and co-culture with mesenchymal stem cells in the presence of Th1 cytokines (MSC-MG) were utilized to obtain a pro-regenerative phenotype.
