Synucleinopathies, including Parkinson’s disease (PD), dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), and multiple system atrophy (MSA), are neurodegenerative disorders characterized by increased accumulation of misfolded alpha-synuclein (aSyn) in Lewy bodies, Lewy neurites or glial inclusions [1, 2]. The gene discussed is SNCA; the disease is Lewy body dementia.
