The activity of these molecules was compared with donepezil and N-(2-(3-(benzyloxy)-2-methyl-4-oxopyridin-1(4H)-yl)ethyl)-7-methoxybenzofuran-2-carboxamide (107) emerged as the most active hybrid demonstrating action against multiple targets of AD including AChE inhibitory activity (IC50 = 76 μM) and self-induced Aβ aggregation inhibition (36.1%) (Hiremathad et al., 2018a). This evidence concerns the gene ACHE and Alzheimer disease.
