NK cell-mediated apoptosis of cytokine-treated MDA-MB-231 was significantly reduced when NK cells were pre-treated with single anti-FAS-L, anti-TRAIL and anti-LFA-1 antibodies, and completely abolished with a cocktail of the three antibodies, thus indicating that all three FAS, TRAIL-R2 and ICAM-1 are synergistically involved in NK cell-mediated apoptosis of cytokine-treated BC cell lines. The gene discussed is ICAM1; the disease is breast cancer.
