It was demonstrated that the single-nucleotide polymorphisms in the CNR1 gene corresponded with weight gain and obesity: for example, rs806378 variation correlated with antipsychotic-induced weight gain in patients with European ancestry [118], rs806381 with higher body mass index in Swiss and Danish subjects [55], rs806368 with increased body mass index and waist circumference [121,122,123], and 4895 C/T with obesity in Japanese men [119]. This evidence concerns the gene CNR1 and obesity disorder.
