A review of clinical records for 81 non-M41 patients identified 5 patients with documented signs of hemolysis (Coombs negative hemolysis or laboratory results with low haptoglobin, high lactose dehydrogenase and hyperbilirubinemia) and 9 additional patients with hyperbilirubinemia only, which may suggest increased erythropoiesis in response to peripheral hemolysis. This evidence concerns the gene HP and Hyperbilirubinemia.
