Of note, infection with rCDC-9 P11 VP4_AA385 did not downregulate the pro-inflammatory response for selected cytokines (e.g., IL-1β, IL-18 MIP-1α) indicating that AA385 might be involved in reduced viral shedding in vivo but did not modulate inflammatory responses as seen with rCDC-9 P11 VP4_AA331. This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and infection.
