When visual stimulation was received in one eye, children with anisometropic amblyopia had blood oxygen dysfunction in both the V1 and V2, and there was asymmetric involvement between the bilateral visual cortices. Both traditional acupuncture and percutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation intervention increased the Oxy-Hb content in the visual cortex of children with anisometropic amblyopia when they received visual stimulation in one eye, and at the same time improved the asymmetric involvement between the ipsilateral and contralateral visual cortices. This evidence concerns the gene GSTM1 and amblyopia.
