Xu (36) discovered that acupuncture produced an immediate central effect on primary insomnia, specifically manifested as a decrease in the concentration of Oxy-Hb in brain regions such as the prefrontal motor cortex and the somatosensory synesthesia cortex of the parietal lobe, which inhibited excessive excitement in brain regions related to emotion and cognition, thereby controlling excessive arousal in insomniacs to improve insomnia.
