Our study demonstrates that, at a protein level, most of the studied SARS‐CoV‐2 entry‐associated proteins showed lower expression in airway epithelium of COPD patients compared to non‐COPD controls, which was significant for HSPA5, NRP1, BSG, TMPRSS2, and ITGB6. This evidence concerns the gene NRP1 and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
