The gene encoding endophilin A1 (gene name sh3gl2) is almost exclusively expressed in the brain (Ringstad et al., 1997), and has been implicated in epilepsy, schizophrenia, depression, Parkinson’s disease, and Alzheimer’s disease (Chang et al., 2017; Corponi et al., 2019; Germer et al., 2019; Ren et al., 2008; Yu et al., 2018a; Yu et al., 2018b). The gene discussed is SH3GL2; the disease is depressive symptom measurement.
