Importantly, the authors showed that the oral NLRP3 inhibitor MCC950 effectively crosses the blood–brain barrier, suppresses inflammasome activation, and ameliorates motor deficits, dopaminergic neurodegeneration, and α-syn pathology in animal models, thereby validating NLRP3 as a promising therapeutic target for PD.
