The cIMPACT-NOW has suggested that lower grade IDH-wildtype astrocytomas carrying epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) amplification and accompanied whole chromosome 7 gain and whole chromosome 10 loss (+7/−10) and/or telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) promoter mutation should be classified as glioblastomas, because of their shorter survival time (4, 6). This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and astrocytoma (excluding glioblastoma).
