In this study, we leveraged harmonized demographic data, autopsied verified neuropathology collection, and harmonized cognitive scores from the National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center (NACC) autopsy dataset to investigate the role of vascular neuropathologies (arteriolosclerosis, atherosclerosis of the circle of Willis, cerebral amyloid angiopathy, gross infarcts/ lacunes, and microinfarcts) in cognitive outcomes among individuals with intermediate or high neurofibrillary tau pathology but none or low neuritic plaques. Here, MAPT is linked to cerebral amyloid angiopathy.
