Second, we hypothesized that anti‐AHNAK1 antibodies might affect the Ca2+ balance of lymphocytes in SLE patients, resulting in the pathogenesis of SLE, as we found that the mRNA level of AHNAK1 was highly expressed in lymphocytes of SLE patients; however, we could not perform the functional assay of anti‐AHNAK1 antibodies using lymphocytes of SLE patients. Here, AHNAK is linked to systemic lupus erythematosus.
