ALOX5 and chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps: These studies collectively suggest that ALOX5-mediated macrophage M2 polarization, chemotactic enhancement, and immunomodulation are its core functions across diseases, and that nasal mucosal macrophages, as key regulators of the local inflammatory microenvironment of CRSwNP, may respond to ALOX5 regulation through similar mechanisms.
