Similarly, in the mechanical itch model, optogenetic activation reduced scratching by 48.21 ± 7.606% in vehicle controls versus 48.33 ± 6.872% with norBNI (t = 0.01161, p = 0.9909; Fig. 5J), demonstrating that KOR antagonism does not compromise mechanical itch inhibition.
