ICAM1 and neoplasm: Knowing that ICAM‐1 is supposed to be a key element in mechanisms allowing tumors to escape immunosurveillance,[37] the observed reduction in its expression by the amide‐LA suggests a potential mechanism, by which the drugs might exert anti‐metastatic potential.[28] Further research is required to clearly identify signaling pathways and regulatory mechanisms underlying ICAM‐1 and the role of macrophage phenotype in tumor and metastasis progression.
