KIT and cancer: Studies have shown that L-Apt.12-6 can be engineeredto bind to G4s in the promoter domain of the human proto-oncogene c-KIT, leading to transcriptional repression and subsequentinhibition of c-KIT protein expression. This regulatory capability highlights the potential of L-RNA aptamersas therapeutic agents in cancer treatment and can be used to silenceoverexpressed oncogenes (Figure B).
