CALCA and infection: To establish a baseline for later evaluation of antimicrobial effects on KC immunometabolism, we activated KCs through classical stimulation or infection with SA to measure the effects of polarization on immunometabolism by quantifying expression of representative genes via reverse transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) and performing two-photon excitation fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (TPE-FLIM) (Fig. 1A through C).
