Regarding the potential risk of DKA associated with sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor use in T1D, we repeatedly emphasized that this medication must be administered under the guidance of a diabetologist (10, 11): it should be initiated only when insulin doses are adequate, and during treatment, the patient must comply with regular follow-up visits and periodic ketone monitoring as prescribed to ensure safety.
