A large body of cross‐sectional research has demonstrated that higher serum CRP levels are associated with MDD (Orsolini et al. 2022) as well as its core clinical features such as cognitive impairment (Dalkner et al. 2020; Mac Giollabhui et al. 2021; Zainal and Newman 2021) and sleep disturbance (Okun et al. 2009). The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is major depressive disorder.
