Analysis of LDL uptake-related genes in human cancer cells using the Zhan et al. MM dataset [33] revealed that NPC1, a gene involved in cholesterol transport, was significantly overexpressed in the plasma cells of monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) and MM patients compared to those from healthy individuals (Fig. 1A). The gene discussed is NPC1; the disease is Miyoshi myopathy.
