Dephosphorylation of GluN2B-Tyr1472 promotes NMDAR endocytosis and reduces their retention at the PSD (Prybylowski et al. 2005; Xu et al. 2006), a process previously associated to the elevated PTPMEG levels and memory impairment in NSPA-KO mice (Espinoza et al. 2020). Here, PTPN4 is linked to memory impairment.
